Application

Membership

The application process is as follows:

  1. Download and complete the application packet (.docx or .pdf) (incomplete application packets will be returned);
  2. Gather the required documentation.
  3. Submit the application packet (in bulk) using one of the following menthods:
    • E-Mail: (prefered method):
      application@certifiedchaplains.org;
    • USPS:
      PO Box 620822, Orlando FL 32862-0822; or
    • Fax:
      (407) 218-6481 (start fax at the welcome message).
  4. Use the "Payment" button below to submit the appropriate fee(s).
  5. Other payment methods:
    • your bank bill pay system; or
    • personal/company check (checks returned for any reason will incur a $50.00 fee).
    • N.B. – Cash and telephone payments will not be accepted.
  6. Fee Schedule:
    • Application Fee: $100.00
      Your fee includes membership for the balance of the calendar year.
    • Annual Membership: $100.00
      (January 1 – December 31)
    • Returned Check Fee: $50.00
  7. Upon reciept of the application and fee your application will be reviewed and you will be notified of the national boards decision within 20 days.
  8. Once you receive your membership acceptance packet. You may register for the members area to have access to exclusive content.

Board Certification

New Board Certification

The process for Board Certification is as follows:

  1. Download and complete the application packet (.docx or pdf). Board Certification grants membership in ACCC for the balance of the current calendar year.
  2. Gather the required documentation.
  3. Submit the application packet (in bulk) using one of the following menthods:
    • E-Mail: (prefered method):

    • Fax:
      (407) 218-6481 (start fax at the welcome message).
  4. Use the "Payment" button below to submit the appropriate fee(s).
  5. Other payment methods:
    • your bank bill pay system; or
    • personal/company check (checks returned for any reason will incur a $50.00 fee).
    • N.B. – Cash and telephone payments will not be accepted.
  6. Fee Schedule:
    • Application Fee: $100.00. Your initial application fee grants membership for the balance of the calendar year.
    • Annual Membership/Certification Renewal: $100.00 per calendar year (billed January 1, each year)
    • Board Certification Fee: $250.00 per certification desired.
    • If your application is withdrawn prior to any action, your certification fee will be refunded less a $50.00 processing fee. Your application fee is non-refundable.
    • Returned Check Fee: $50.00
  7. The Administrator will send the applicant an acknowledgement which will include the certification requirements and our Chaplains standards.
  8. Once ACCC receives the application and supporting documents. Our Certification Review Committee will review the application for completeness and once the application is complete, the applicant will be notified. Incomplete applications will be returned. Applications will be held for a period of sixty (60) days after which the applicant will have to resubmit their application.
  9. The ACC National Board will review the application and once satified, the applicant will be contacted to arrange the certification interview. Interviews may be conducted in person, via telephone conference call, or via electronic meeting such as Skype ®. Interviews are conducted on the first Thursday of each month except November and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  10. After the interview, the applicant will receive notification of the board's decision within twenty (20) days. If there are deficits, the applicant will be required to show correction and, at the discretion of the National Board, the applicants certification will be granted or the applicant may be asked to re-interview. There is no additional fee.
  11. The applicant will receive a letter of acceptance and an electronic copy of their certificate along with an invitation to participate in the next annual conference, be recognized by their peers, and receive their certificate. Those that do not attend will have the certificate mailed to them withing thirty (30) days of the conference.

Reciprocal Certification

ACCC will reciprocate current certifications from BCI, and CPSP without going through the entire certification process.

  1. Follow the instructions for "New Certification" above.
  2. Submit the documentation as shown in the application instructions.
  3. Submit the appropriate fees as shown above using the payment button at the bottom of this page.
  4. Once your packet and fee are received, your application will be reviewed by the ACCC Certification Board and if approved, you will recieve your ACCC certifications. This process may take up to twenty (20) business days.
